Hi J,
I did readsomewhere that it could have been part of a circle. The Megalithic Portal also lists it as a circle but gives no further clues.

I just just spent a few days in Dorset, but due to bad weather didn't get out much. I spent a hour in Dorchester museum (wow!) and managed to get across the Poole ferry to see the Agglestone. Got very wet and muddy but well worth it, missed the puckstone, looks massive on the map but couldn't see it from the big one. I see from your posts you were there also, hope your map reading was better than mine. Took a couple of wrong turns and ended up in barbed wire, ditches etc...

Cheers from phil

Seems it probbly is, re-reading the Peter Knight book, John Aubrey found 3 stones there. Another of which could be in the next field. That'll teach me not to pay attention...

I loved your photos of the Agglestone btw, The Puckstone is completely different & foxed me for ages. It literally is just a mound covered in vegetation about 4-5ft high, hiding any stones at all from a distance. Hope my photos will shed some light on it!

I still haven't been to the museum though I did get out for two days at Xmas & started working my way through Dorsets standing stones..

Oh and did you mean http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=3070, the other one gave me Ramdale in Yorkshire?
