I was going to put the pic of the black ninja yorkshire fighting cows that I mentioned, but was scared of inviting the wrath of meester McGrail.
You must admit that it is a good way of looking at the shape of cups.
As for scale markers, I have lost a geological hammer, a couple of compasses and various other items over the years. I always remember to put my lens cap on so tend not to lose it.
Now I've said that I'll probably leave my camera behind on my next traipse about.
