More Brandalism!

Yes, I did wonder whether HA ought to have something about the issue. It's a simple matter of respect really isn't it, and if the NT hasn't got any there's not much hope for the rest of the population developing any.

Mind you, I'm struck by how little reaction there has been to this, compared with the Uffington thing. It's all about looks I reckon, Uffington is gorgeous whereas this is an 'orribe clodhopping thing.... ;)

I am going to use Photoshop to Brandalise a few sites to take the piss out of NT.
Any suggestions?

I wonder if the lack of reaction is connected with the modern horses (those cut 1780-1868) not being considered in the same 'ancient heritage' league as Uffington and that the abuse of that monument was authorised by the NT where the other acts were not.

If it had been a statue of Churchill the establishment would have hunted down and thrown the book at them...

Sorry I've gone off on one...

I've emailed Fiat, and sent this to the National Trust.

I cancelled my membership of the National Trust when I discovered that the Trust had accepted money from Channel 4 so that they could use the Uffington White Horse as an advertising space. My main concern, voiced in an email to the Trust, that was this would set a precedent for further company or product advertising at sites of beauty or historic interest. It seems I was right to be concerned. The beautiful Cherhill Down, owned by the National Trust, was despoiled this week by an advertising hoarding for Fiat Panda, and parts of the white horse were covered by black bags. Has the National Trust given it's permission for this? Are we to see more and more of this sort of thing? Do you have a list of sites where I can walk and not be bombarded by advertisements?
