Seems I'm a bit late on this one - but for worrit's worth anyone who wants to think the Panorama Stone ladders (or half the other rock-art on Ilkley Moor for that matter) are Victorian carvings is talking, simply, bollocks! It's evident that whoever's postulating such an idea (Gavin Edwards, yeah?) doesn't really know much about his subject. If the erosion quality on Panorama can be deemed as such that it's less than 200 years old, we're gonna have to seriously reconsider rock-art across the entire country (from Argyll all the way down to Yorkshire) as being little more than a few centuries older at the most. Pure nonsense of course...
Anyone got Gavin's email address?
