Hello

At least I'm a little glad to see that I'm not the only one who can't find whacking big stones in the middle of empty fields. Where is cleulow cross/the bullstones? Try as we might, we couldn't find'em at all. Can anyone help? Plus - are there any other nice stones up there?

thanks!

sorry perhaps I put the reference the wrong side of the little road, I haven't been up there myself. Grendel's your man. The megalithic portal puts it at SJ956676. There's lots of info at http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=5524

Lud's church gorge isn't far, that looks interesting. Not megalithic though.

Thanks for that Rhiannon - Mrs Grendel is the expert of the duo. The old picture in the article is a little misleading as the circle of stones is now partially buried. The Glenquickan-esque centre stones stands on the skyline from some positions.

We find parking at SJ955678 (near the road junction) the best. Take the path that goes SE - after you have gone over the 3rd stile (including the one from the road) you should see the stone on the hill to your right.

If you still have probs contact us - we only live 10 mins from the site..

The Portal article was published previously in Northern Earth.

thanks for all the info - we will certainly try harder next time! Have been to Lud's Church - may not be megalithic but is truly awesome and very much recommended. I love that whole area - very, very beautiful and nice and handy for us who live in the depths of Stoke...

First site in 4 weeks....

Managed to convince a coupla mates to drag/carry me to this site....it's close to the road.

At last........
