These stones have a funny kind of power. I've spent a lot of the summer looking at (and for) them and can hardly remember when I've been healthier.
In my sculpture park valley, in Northumberland, I suspect that most of the stones that are usually dismissed as glacial erratics were formerly standing. I reckon that historic stone burning was limited by the availability of water...
