They were simply on the grass. Some nest to stones , some not. I had an idea it might be something to do with the Moles but i have never seen a Mole with a spray can! XX

But there are such things as mole catchers and it is spring time for mating etc! Probably marking out where to put traps, they sink them in the ground along the runs...

moles mating of course not mole catcher mating....
