Avebury sights

Well, I did the long walk about Avebury at the w/e:
Avebury -> Windmill Hill -> Longstones -> Silbury -> West Kennet longbarrow -> The Sanctuary -> WK avenue -> Avebury

I only got lost twice and one of those was caused by panic at approaching horses.

A couple of things arose:
Was it just me or is it a bit difficult to work out what's going on at Windmill hill?
Has the Beckhampton barrow been excavated? Its _huge_
Is WK LB aligned to the santury or is that just my eyesight? :)

Not much was found beside 2 Ox skulls.

It is nearly sighted on the sanctuary but not exactly.

WKLB is not directly aligned on the Sanctuary, but you would quite clearly have been able to see the entrance to the barrow from the Sanctuary ... there is a visual, possibly symbolic alignment.
