The Winterporkiefest! Brilliant! Reckon the ditch were fer pig-sticking - they'd let the porkies out and somehow got 'em to run round the ditch at great speed while spectators on the bank cheered - that's why the ditch was so deep, so the porkies couldn't climb out and it meant it was harder to stick one of 'em from the top.

And then they'd have lots of hog-roasts, not in the circle itself of course 'cause that were probably considered sacred.
