That would be tapping into the undergound aquifer then , plenty of water there.Wells on Green st have been capped since the houses were demolished in the 1960's.
There is even a deep well in Little Canada.
There is No source of water between the Ridgeway and Avebury except a dew pond on the hill and a seasonal pond in the farm yard.
