Most of the Pagans I know are great, they have real respect and love for ancient places.
IMHO the problems at Avebury are related to Glastonbury festival now that the travellers (who started the festival) are not allowed in.
Tickets prices are crazy and Stonehenge is just a 12 hour free for all so Avebury is a soft option.
I bet visiter numbers to Avebury would be a lot lower if the Red Lion closed...
