Doktoratomik,

I agree, I have slapped a label on a minority, but I think we have both come to the same conclusion - the minority tag on, cause trouble, and spoil it for the people who are serious about their beliefs.

Cheers,

Yeah, I agree.

ok, speaking as a Pagan, Avebury frequenter, psychologist...

Avebury is a magical place ' fact'. But what is 'fact', or is it 'knowledge', or 'belief'? what is the difference? If fact is real knowledge, and we inspect where our knowledge comes from (books, media, word of mouth etc), then we can see that all 'knowledge' (and most fact) is subjective, so what is 'truth'? There is no absolute objective truth or fact, or knowledge. Everything we know is interpretation. Whos interpretation is 'real'? No-ones......

My rather rambling point is who are we / they to pass judgement on anothers belief ar actions (if it harms none). If someones knowledge of Paganism / Avebury involved zenith ceremonies, kiss / tell / white bed sheets then who are we to pass comment? I too think some 'ceremonies' are bizarre, sily etc - but no doubt so are the ones I attend.

Yes, some egos are inflated - but who inflates them? Surely, if out own beliefs are strong enough, we are not deterred by anothers beliefs?

Paganism? What is this? We can read the textbook definitions, but what weknow is what we experience? Avebury does attract a wide range of peoples - surely that is what contributes to the site?

Yes, no doubt it is possible to get drugs at avebury. You can probably also get them outside your front door. Or in your village, or in your town. Or your childrens school. My point is that it is a society issue, not an Avebury or Pagan one. I have nver been 'offered' those things mentioned earlier, and we need to be careful making such wild statemtns on a forum watched by PC Keen et al.

Come to Avebury, do what you will, harm none. Laugh only at yourself

Ive deliberately left some holes in the above btw..... ;-)
