I didn't watch it, but I understand that NT insisted that it was scripted in that a character state that cycling was an activity that wasn't allowed on Avebury.

Out of interest, how much money do you contribute to Avebury's upkeep?

for whjat its worth - the staff actually at Avebury are against this sort of thing - its high up the ladder that gave consent...

if people want to help with Avebury's upkeep, there are many ways - such as joing the Avebury Guardians, whose members are at work every week picking litter, checking the site, doing erosion control, answering questions etc etc. You can of course do a lot of this on your own anyway, as lots indeed do.
Letter writing is good, but fresh air is better! ;-)

Really? I must have missed that bit but I think it's called a cop-out clause, as in let's show a couple of dozen people scrambling up Silbury Hill and then let's have one of them say, "You know, we really shouldn't be doing this." (Tony Blair's grin and round spherical objects spring to mind).

Excuse me? Would you care to explain the reasoning behind your question and how it might be relevant to the airing on prime time television of people going up and down the ditches of a World Heritage Site on mountain bikes?
