Now Avenue Farm's no longer with us, where's a decent place to camp if you want somewhere cheap, simple and secure(ish)?

A camp site in Avebury would solve many problems with regards to policing the numbers, however. On the other side of that idea there is the strong chance that it would be messed up by those unable or unwilling to control themselves.
