avebury camping?

I remeber camping in the picknick area at avebury in 2003, is it still the case that if you turn up early enough that national trust will still allow you to do this?

Spronk, that's a good name.

As far as I (a northener who rarely gets down that way) am aware, camping would be a no-no. I strongly suspect you would get told off, with possible constabulary intervention.

I'm sure there are others here who could give you a more definite answer.

There were two camp sites last year, I camped in the Avenue away from it all. It was pouring with rain and the Police couldn't be bothered to move me on despite the looks from the cover of their patrol car. The year before you were allowed to camp amongst the stones. Expect plenty Police on the ground and in the air and no where to park.
