FourWinds thinks, or implies, that Avebury was a sacrificial site. But what evidence is there for sacrificial practices at these ancient sites? Just as the University idea may be a modern romantic whimsy, maybe the idea that they were gory sacrificial sites is just as wrong headed? I suppose the charm is we don't know, but I'd like to hear from those coming from "pro" and "Con" sacrifice perspectives, as i can check out theories when i get down to avebury.
