The Avebury alignment for the Lunar Maximum moonset is the Sanctuary to the top of Silbury Hill. A. Thom lists it among his data but doesn't refer to it in the text.

There'll next be a moon near there on the 29th of this month - four days after the full moon, it'll set a couple of hours after sunrise and be 'quite near' the intended alignment. There'll be lines to the Lunar Minimum rising and setting points somewhere in the landscape (also). Won't need those till 2016.

If my 2005 calendar for the Smithills rows materialises then it will also work for Avebury and the other sites that include a lunar alignment. Thom lists the sites with azimuths pointed at the 2006 return. Maybe I should list them somewhere.
