Unfortunately Kieller never got around to the other half of the southern inner circle so there are probably more buried stones there.
Some have speculated that it formed a square around the central obelisk.
The Cove also has a small row of stones to its north, most are buried but a few poke through. Roughly a similar alignment.

Try the little row at the Cove for the moonset on the 29th this month. It'll be a large moon and setting in the morning again (I think). It'll not be an exact match but there might be enough to say 'look further'.

It's possible that vii is the blocking stone and that the sightline is intended with this stone at your back. We might assume that the Obelisk was closely similar to the Rudston Monolith - for cardboard cutouts. These central stones are usually the first to go.
