Holographic stones would be nice. Not sure how that would work, but it would be rather nifty.

Just think of the reconstructions you could create with 3D holograms, all without harming the archaeology in any way (except digging holes and foundations for the fancy laser equipment etc). I think we've invented Archeo-Sci-Fi.

something for the future. Or perhaps we'll just have virtual reality headsets (loaned of course by the NT from the stand in the car park) and you'll stagger around and 'see' what was once there. Just a matter of time y'know.
Or even, you could just stay at home and load the 2010 version of Pete's cd, and plug that into your vr machine, no need to stir from your chair. Marvellous.
