It wasn't me I'm afraid. It was a bit cold for ice-cream wasn't it?

We went straight to the Red Lion and had lunch, then wondered around the henge in a sort of clockwise direction, meandering about as you do. Checked out the new Tourist Information Centre, bought a loverly new Explorer map of the area, checked out the shop etc. One of the people I was with was an Avebury virgin, so we took it slowly.

Ended up resorting to using the car to see Faulkner's Circle, The Sanctuary, Silbury, Adam and Eve and the Marlborough Mound.
