Hi Goff, I've just put the directions for St.Nons well, Pelynt onto Pelynt Barrows Cemetery site.. There is also a well at Alternun... and has anyone ever been to Paul,(2 miles from Penzance) with a lovely old crooked standing stone ensconced in the church wall capped by a celtic cross.

I will be staying in Mousehole, just down the road from Paul. I will have to check out the stone there.

The other things I am hoping to convince my friends to come along to (I have the only car - I could strand them somewhere...!) are the Merry Maidens, Tregiffian Burial Chamber, Carn Gluze, Chysauster, Carn Euny, Lanyon Quoit and the Men an Tol, all of which I have seen before. And I was hoping to add to that Chun Castle and Quoit, Mulfra Quoit, Hallygye Fogou, Tregeseal stone circle and Men Scryfa. Plus anything else that is worth seeing!! I'll throw in Goonhilly Downs, Geevor Tin Mine, the Minack Theatre and a few cream teas in for the other two but I am fighting the Lands End thing tooth and nail. I did go there once, during the petrol crisis when we fortunately had enough petrol to get about a bit. It was probably the best time to go, because most of the tat was closed and there was hardly anyone else there.

Strangely, even though we always used to stay on The Lizard (Coverack was my favourite beach as a child!) I have never been to the lighthouse, so I will have to rectify that. And thanks for the offer of tea, Mr H - it may well depend on how many cream teas we've managed to stuff in ourselves by then!!

Hi Moss, Goff and Ocifant

Those directions are a little out of date...

The directions from Pelynt are..Leave Pelynt village going towards Looe. As you are about to leave the village turn left and follow lane as it winds down into the West Looe valley. At the bottom you turn left then fork off left just before a bridge over the river. This lane climbs between high banks until it does a very sharp hairpin left.
Park here and walk down the lane to Hobb Park . About half way down the track there is a tree on the right. Beside it are steps leading down to the well and a great view of the valley.

Ocifant, if you want to take Mikki down to the well I would think the owner of the house at the bottom would be happy for you to park by the well. Might be worth popping down to ask. Its a magical place.

Mr H
