V interesting. Having never been up close, is there any visible trace of a ditch at all at Marlborough or is it all under the college buildings?

Also, can access be requested do you know? Ive only ever seen it by craning my neck as I'm driving along!

I've just driven in and parked up for a wander before without hassle. Would probably be better in the evening though when the kids aren't about.

Stukeley had noted that springs rise in the ditch .
It looks like the ditch was filled in some time after 1850 , a cart shed was built over part of it in 1892 . No idea about access .
