Ladies and gentlemen,

Just wondering what protection official scheduling as an ancient monument actually affords a site? Or is supposed to, perhaps?

It means that it is an offence to damage it without written permission .

LOL

Or to put it in more formal wording;

The gulf between words and actuality is immense, but as I said planting new trees on this barrow does'nt seem right.
Not sure what there is out there in the rule book about landscaping scheduled monuments, after all most of the barrows round Avebury have tree cover..
