I received an email from Neil I. Redfern (Team Leader - North Yorkshire
Inspector of Ancient Monuments) which said:-

"English Heritage is aware of the condition of this monument and we are currently investigating the circumstances which have lead to its current condition.

My colleague Dr. Keith Emerick is taking the lead, although he is on leave until the 7th April."

I get up there every so often, so I'll be interested to see how this develops and how quickly the stone is re-erected.
