orkneys next year for me, moth. i'm told its quite straightforward - flat roads, but a bit of bother with the wind, perhaps. see harry henniker's magnum opus, "100 bike routes in scotland" for more

about 37 quid - I had to have a new one put on mine the day before London-Brighton - I'd managed to wear the whole lot out in a year ...
