Half the fun of any site is finding it yourself I rather think.

Are the people on these tours the same ones that are on the Bath-Castle Combe-Stonehenge-Avebury buses? I suppose not. They're probably on the 'Mystical Vibe' tour where you Find Yourself. The polissoir's quite some distance from a minibus.

They'd certainly walked - how far I have no idea but it must have been a fair distance. The downside though was that not many of them even looked interseted....

Finding it yourself is great, but I only managed it by gathering together all the hints & stuff I could glean from any source.... Without that help I could've been there weeks!!!

I regularly lead my walking group to locations such as the Polisher. I don't think these things should be kept to a select few. Everyone should have a chance to enjoy our heritage. And with many years experience I think that the type of people who take these tours are unlikely to cause any problems. They are just like you and I really.
