As you know the place pretty well, Chris, I'd guess that's a fairly rhetorical question!!!!

"Too fucking close" is definitely the answer!!!!!

Looks to be about the same distance (or less) from the aerial as the aerial is from the circle - and you know how close that is! http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/3323

Gonna be a REALLY difficult one to fight tho - with the forest to the west & the terrain there, it'd be difficult to reroute. The other side of the forest & hills & it's really close to Blackburn - which would probably cause more aggro than proximity to the circle will.

And at the risk of being fair, if I know any city that NEEDS a by-pass, it's Aberdeen!!!!

Hmmm. :^(

I quite agree with it needing a bypass but......

All of the proposed routes shared a common factor-the last leg thru the middle of the circle.

Thing is, as you know, this is halfway up a hillside overlooking the city-what a blight a 2 lane dual carriageway. I guess the only positive may be the helicopters drowning out the noise of the road :-(

As far as how definite this is, I beleive the final decision is in the spring-but like I said, north of the A96 there has only ever been one choice.

Well, if all goes well I shall be living up there from next month, so I'll see whats going on then.

Bypass Stonehenge, but flyover Tyrebagger. Heritage my arse, obviously not enough Japanese tourists coughing up cash to EH/HS.
