Any further news on this yet CE, suspense is killing me.

Not yet, sorry! I met with the venerable J. Barnatt yesterday, a short meeting of only 4 hours! What an amazing man. Gave me some incredible feedback on the book and so I have to go away and think about it and do some work on it.

I have been looking at self publishing as it doesn't look like any publishers are going to take it on (too big, too expensive to produce, no market, recession, bollox, bollox and more bollox...)

lulu.com is a good option as it is a print on demand service so no money upfront is needed, but as it stands the production cost for a single would be about £44 which is way too high in my opinion. If I can get this down to about £25 then I will go for it. This will mean revising the book a fair bit to bring the page count down, which after yesterday's advice from John Barnatt is something that will happen anyway as it may be a case of featuring the top 'must-see' sites in the way they are right now (double page photograph, then double page of map, directions, ground plan and details) and then having a simpler list of the lesser sites in case anyone wants to see these too.

So there is work to be done for sure, but I am confident this revised approach will make it more affordable and relevant to the end user!
