I decided to visit the loft and dig out my copy of of Gordon's , p84 has a mention of Kensington but is merely about the upper garden at Kensington being known as the "siege of Troy".
Kennington getas a mention in relation to it's "sacred mound" but not much info. This is just a quick look via the index I'll have a proper butchers later .

Ive got Gordons book, there was supposed to be a mound at Kennington. I have read reports of a burnt mound at Kensington on campden hill at the site of the Phollimores, i presume this is some kind of posh housing estate. i will be visiting soon.....
