Hi Richard,
Shirebooks used to do a good introductory book called 'Hillforts of England and Wales' by James Dyer (ISBN 0-7478-0180-0) and it was only a fiver, but I can't see it on their website anymore.

You might still be able to pick up a copy somewhere though.

BTW - Is that paraglider a 2 seater? ;-)

I was just about to ask if you were a 2 seater.

I did a flight in Turkey a few years back, taking off at exactly 1 mile above sea level with a 45 minute flight back down to earth.

Would love to do another.

I've found it on Amazon and it's still £5. Looks like a good intro!

Unfortunately I can't take passengers, that will take me a few years yet! However, there are plenty of pilots there in the summer, especially at weekends.

Check the weather forecast as things start to warm up. If the wind is forecast to be from the SouthWest, and not more than 12-15mph, then you'll probably find people flying. If you are in the area, come and say hello, someone will know a qualified tandem pilot and you never know, you might be able to blag a ride for scientific purposes! Unfortunately I've just joined the local club so don't really know who's who yet.

All the best,

Richard.
