I've been contacted by a chap who was trying to find the circle at Harwood Dale - he is sure he was in the right place but could only find 3 stones lying together in a field and not the stones of the circle. He also said that the farmer was less than friendly and that a conversation with some locals revealed some kind of planning permission appeals going on. While it’s hopefully just a case of mistaken identity with the stones, does anybody know of any strange goings-on in the area? Also has anybody been up to the circle recently or is anyone likely to be in the area any time soon?
I've given him the contact details of the N. Yorks county archaeo but I’m not sure now quickly they check these kind of things out.
