Stoned in Stanton

close

An appealing thought, until you realise the stones are of the 'fist sized' variety thrown at you along with verbal abuse by drunken? ****s at 10 in the morning. A day off work, a trip up to Stanton and a dirty great chunk out of my head from the stone that hit it....
Aahhhh the peace and tranquility of Chesterfield A&E......

Bloody hell, I've spent plenty of time in Calow recently and it ain't fun... nice views out the back though. Years ago when I was up on Druid Rocks we got reported by locals to the cops for 'acting suspiciously in long coats'. They followed us very subtly (ie. we didn't know we were being followed) all the way back to Youlgrave via the Flying Childers. The point of this 'anecdote' is that it just goes to show that stone spotting in the peaks can be a very dangerous business indeed... also I've lost count of the injuries that Robin Hoods Stride has inflicted upon me in one shape or another.
