Ah, I get what you are saying - these may not be the same pits.

Don't suppose you found a map showing exactly where intervention 8 is?

Mikes comments were made to an audience of peers, including Mike Pitts, Jan Harding, CBA, YAS and a lot of others.

It may well be that the Interventions 8 and 5 are different to the pits that Mike Griffiths spoke about in March, and that the summary reports about those pits are not yet on the website. Or it may be that the Meso pits are on the website but with insufficient information to spot them as such. It could even be that he misinterpreted the pits as Meso in his enthusiasm? (Difficult to say without access to Mike's info.) I only commented on the website info., such as it is.

There is a location map of trenches A and B that together comprise Intervention 8 (which somewhat confusingly formed part of Investigation 18!) together with summary here:

Intervention 5 (where the bulk of the Meso material was found that was being referred to in the quote that you posted) can be linked to from the links to Investigations 12,13,14 and 15 in the "Chronology of Investigations" table at the base of this page:

Just to save future (or present :-) ) confusion. I should mention that this log-in has a split personality! Two of us are posting on it (normally at different times!!).
