Blue stone

close

Can anyone throw any light on this stone? We have a query on the Portal http://www.megalithic.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=My_eGallery&file=index&do=showpic&pid=884&orderby=dateD and looking at your field notes, there seems to be at least three different stones involved. Saxon boundary stone seems the best bet to me. Thanks

Are all the bluestones accounted for at Stonehenge. I suppose one of the smaller ones could have 'gone missing' during a Toon b'll away day. It looks like it's in pieces now though - perhaps there are other lumps nearby. The Standing Stone nearby seems poised for collapse and in urgent need of a temporary buttress.

Funnily enough, I did a drive-by on this stone on Boxing Day, just for the hell of seeing a nice stone on my travels...

I've never actually managed to stop off and visit this stone, but I suspect our very own Hob >might< be able to enlighten us further on this 'un... If he doesn't show up soon, I'll give him a nudge for ya!

Hallo Peter, I've posted a hasty reply on The Portal, hope it makes sense.

There are 3 stones, but very little info on any of them.

I'll have a dig about on my HD and see if I can find anything relevant.
