Went to Gray Hill today, I'd forgotten what a great site it is.

The vegeatation has been substantially cleared and some of the buried stones have been exposed (by digging). Is anyone aware of whether any professional surveying of the site has been going on?

On a much sadder note, some tosser has spray-painted the large standing stone nearest to the circle with a hand silhouette. It appears to have been done with black aerosol paint, which won't easily come off.

Never visited but always fascinated by this place being so near to what was my part of the world.
So looking around there is a PDf file to be downloaded here of what has been happening in the past..... sorry it is a long link, one day I will learn to shorten stuff.

And a second PAST Prehistoric Society 50 here, Rhiannon put on the first one..

Many thanks for these Moss, I'd seen Rhiannon's liink but not the other, both very interesting.

I was last here in 2009, and whatever digging, clearance, etc is more recent than that (I would say probably early this year judging by the way the vegetation is only just coming back). I'll email RCAHMW and see if they have any info.
