Prehistoric Hut?

Mmm. Off the top of me head, I didn't like the fogou bit - seems to much like fairly superficially linking it to the Carn Euny fogou/beehive. Haven't got the Weatherhill book, so can't check to see if he sez any more.

For me, to link it in with fogous would need there to be evidence of a much more fogou-like ie LONG passage of some sort being linked with it. The problem is that even the short remaining 'passage' entrance bit has a more modern structure built over & round it, so it'd be difficult to tell if it was ever any longer or led off a longer passage or owt.

But anyway, an overground fogou would be REALLY weird, whereas using the beehive style above ground as a structure for an actual hut doesn't seem quite such a weird 'departure'.

I'm pretty certain there's no suggestion from anything or anyone that the whole thing was ever subterranean, though I'm wondering whether it ever might've had a covering mound of any kind.

On this pic http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/25959 you can see that the 'corner' of the field is banked quite sharply and it DOES correspond with where the actual 'old' - beehive - bit of the structure is. But the banked bit could be owt - could be derived from dumped soil, field clearance, etc etc.
