I've just found a picture of the eggstone at the Abbott's Kitchen in Glastonbury. It's one of the few stones there not to have undergone 'conversion'. They possibly thought it 'may come in handy at Easter'.

I wonder whether it was ever rolled down the hill on Good Friday ?
