I agree TE it is all about how the scree is treated! I think you're fine as you picked your way precariously down it...

BTW you must have nerves of steel, I sat at the top of that scree in June and pondered on picking my way carefully to the cave. However I'd taken a wrong turn earlier & walked almost 100m below the top & that was so petrifying I decided only to stick to the path from then on! I turned white and everything.

Interesting to see the picture you posted with the other factories on it, something for me to do next year. I decided whilst at the top of Pike o' stickle, I'll be spending a whole week wlking about the langdales next year, rather than the day I had this.

Hi Juamei,

>Interesting to see the picture you posted with the other factories on it,

I visited some of the Thorn Crag and Loft Crag sites on my way to Pike of Stickle t'other day. I've got photos of 'em, but am wondering if they need separate sites within the Langdale axe factory site, Pike of Stickle being distinctly different on a grander scale, plus the sites are widely spread.
Bow Fell, across the valley to the west, has a couple of axe factory sites on what is known as Bowfell Links (the mountain is two separate words, but its features are as one word, hence Bow Fell and Bowfell Links), so you can see the problem.
What are your views? Perhaps I should ask the TMA ed to creat a site for Pike of Stickle under the Langdale Axe Factory umbrella before I add the others.
Cheers,
TE.
