High Auchenlarie stone circle, Dumfries+Galloway lock

I'll take plenty of pics - but I'm with Canmore on this one. By the way Tiompan - if you are down that way it is worth your while politely popping by Kirkdale House for a polite gander at the rockery...

That new circle sounds worrying .

No immediate plans HD , but it's a while since I have been in the area , must get down .
Aye, Kirkdale House ,have the stones been moved ,they used to be in a open shed ? There was a time when you could just link to BRAC ,ah well .

I've checked again - the "new" stones are actually about a mile away. I was a bit taken aback... At least one large C&R boulder has been moved/ repositioned of that I am certain. My last visit was beset with livestock issues which curtailed access. All such issues should be gone by mid October. I shall have plenty of time, access and empty fields. And some cracking accommodation nearby.

Aye the Kirkdale collection are still in the "lean-to" ... I just meant they were a "rockery" all on their own!

BRAC? What a loss. Jan and Gus (and yer guid self's massive conribution) created a thing of wonder there. Much missed - such a treasure house at the finger tips. A real inspiration. And so much better than any book could ever be.
