Yes, the circle you are referring to is the one under the powerlines.

Apologies for any upset caused. The arresting Kate pointed out (very sensibly), that there was a possibility the stone might break when toppling over. Think this was a case of brains not being engaged.

Off for a thrashing with an old copy of Burl's <i>'A Guide To The Stone Circles Of Britain, Ireland & Brittany'</i> . . .

No apologies required - you preserved the socket, which would otherwise have eroded or filled with grass and have been lost forever, - the very socket that held the vital information on the position the stone was in. And you preserved it in a perfect fashion, better than any other - you put a stone of the exact same shape into it.
Never apologise, always look affronted that anyone should dare to question anything you do!

Looks like you and J (and me by implication) are off the hook TC.

Makes me wonder how many times this has happened over the years. For such a dinky stone to survive upright, next to what was once a major route, and then survive the building of the pylons too.

Here's to it's continued survival...
