Mitchell's fold is one of the loveliest circles i've ever visited, and is only one of six other circles in the vicinity, as well as the Stiperstones nearby, which although natural, were aa centre for bronze age burials. There is an excellent pub near Mitchell's Fold --- "The Miner's Arms" which has a druidic well inside! There is an excellent account of local folklore too, explaining the local stone circles, and the traditions of the fairy-faith locally, which seem to still have living adherents. It is a place full of magic, and was the one time home of Ronnie Lane of the Small Faces & his family. He operated his "Passing Show" Rock n' roll circus from the place.

I really enjoyed mitchells fold too

I recommend visiting at the same time as the clun beltane festival

There's only the Hoarstones still there though, right? The Whetstones are gone, and then there's a rumoured ruined circle at Shelve if I recall. . . what's the sixth?
More info please, and all the better if it gives me an excuse to re-vist my local circle, (albeit an hour and a half drive!).
