Same story here, incredibly he tried to tell me it was gone, then it was never there, eventually 'there's no visitors anyway'... That was way back in 2004 or 2005.

Technically there is supposed to be a right of way along the banks of rivers (one passes near the tomb) but you would still be trespassing at the site itself.

Sounds like this guy really doesn't want people on his land...I wonder why he feels the need to lie rather that just saying no!

I guess the river right of way is one way to get in there...

I'll give it a go later this year and see how I get on. I have a feeling he won't allow people on even if there is a right of way along the river.

Did you ever manage to get to it?

Very probably summat to hide. I've usually found that land-owners who act like this are either badger-baiting, culling foxes, or doing summat environmentally dodgy (polluting streams, rivers) that they shouldn't be - and obviously don't want you on 'their' land. Either that, or he just hasn't had it in years! Pity I don't live nearby - I'd take all and sundry for a walk to the place, regularly.

Just go & see it anyway. Land is land and it belongs to no-one. He's not english is he?

Good luck - Paul
