Oddly enough the chairman of Tesco (their profit increased by 60% last year over the previous year) is Co-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, an institution I tend to bang my head against regularly. (They mismanage the Greater Manchester Archaeology Unit - allegedly). The other Co-Chancellor is Anna Ford, who has recently joined the board of Sainsbury. But if the rate of sea level rise is doubling every three years or so there's not going to be much of 'in fifty years time'. Many of our precious stones will have seagulls perched on them.
