Did you use infra red film for those? Very impressive.

That photograph of the cairn on the hillside is superb - and unique.

Please photograph Smithills !

They're crackin' photos fella.
How does infra red film work?
can you bung it in an SLR?
it is difficult to get it developed?
is it expensive?

eek! Cheers, I'm glad you like them :-)

I didn't use infra-red film, I used a polarizing filter and a red filter which give that sharp contrast and the almost black skies. I know filters aren't to everyones taste but I was trying to get quite dramatic effect with the shots.

I'm planning on shooting some infra-red stuff soon. You can put it in a normal SLR camera and I don't think it's too expensive, but it is supposed to be quite tricky to predict how it'll turn out (I've never used it).

I'm going to be spending more time on my black and white photography this year - re-visiting some sites and spending more time on the composition and lighting. This is my first set and I am pretty pleased with how they've turned out.
