Hello gjrk. Um. I bet you could come up with something just as good as in books, you know, some stuff about shiny things, white things, stoney things, mix it all up... I must say I always loved the white quartz lumps my grandad used to have lined up near the house, they were instantly appealing to me as a child, all sparkly and heavy.
I'll bear it in mind on my virtual snippet-gathering.

Course there's a modern new age thing about quartz. But a quick google suggests the ancients did like it for whatever reasons.

White, shiny, stoney. What often strikes me is how cold it is, even on a warm day, compared to the sandstones around it - like ice, frozen water - a silver stone. Might be significant in some areas, but also might not. I'd best keep thinking :)
