Well after what we have all said about the destruction of the 'holy thorn' I have to say it certainly attracted mass attention. It was on West Country TV this evening showing it had been sawn off neatly and not hacked down as I supposed. More to the point though, it was absolutely awash with ribbons and tat of all sorts, so much so that nothing of the cut down section or what was left next to it was visable. It actually reminded me of the respect shown toward Di after she had died when wreaths were piled up so high that they hid everything else. Quite amazing that people were so affected by this like they obviously were.
