Gee, thanks bawn79 - certainly hope so as there's so little of megalithic interest in the Essex neck-of-the-woods that even a 'may be' is exciting. Details here - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/11391/church_of_st_mary_with_st_leonard_broomfield.html

Forgot to mention in the field notes that there's a pretty good pub on the corner of the road leading to the church - though there're places to park in front of and at the side of the church as well.

My little book of Essex...first published 1909...states that Broomfield was a place of early occupation. Palaeolithic implements have been found there....

...but it doesn't say what they were or where they are?..or were in 1909..

No mention of the pudding-stone except for..'The tower is of flint and pudding-stone...'
