Didn't realise there was such a concentration of rock art around Lawers... surely it must have been viewed as some kind of Mother Hill?

I'd camped overnight nearby and drove past the entrance to the (ex) visitor centre en route to Crieff. However 'something' made me reverse back and put on my boots....

It stretches the length of the loch (both sides but the southern side has less although numbers have increased in the past couple of years )generally getting higher to the east (one group between 700m -1011m ) but with some at loch level .With gaps and concentrations it follows the Tay all the way to the Garry /A9 where it runs out .Very little on the north side of the Lawers massif and a distinct lack of monuments on the north side of the Loch (where most of the RA is found ), one stone circle , one chambered cairn . Soil is good considereing the circumstances ,limestone has made the difference .
