Good grief, pseuds corner....Whilst tara is undoubtedly important, there is much else in Ireland that is equally so. Why this preoccupation with tara? Where is the evidence that this was indeed the seat of the kings of ireland? I see much speculation and very few hard facts. The one fact i do see is that some irish archaeologists decided years ago that tara was the place, staked their reputations upon it, and everyone else has followed suit. Wake up people, the emperor has no clothes.l
I have read quiet a bit also about Tara and the St. Patrick myth. That it was only ever a provincal capital and never really a capital of all Ireland. Seemingly there are a lot of places called Teamhair around Ireland.
I figure it could be like looking back in a 100 years time and seeing references to Cork being the "real capital" of ireland.
I could claim that Tipperary is the real capital of Ireland but obviously its not.
That doesnt mean that I want to see it being destroyed because we dont want to see any ancient sites being ruined. Im sure that is the same with urself Rockhopper?
