Still it gets the tourists there in double quick time!! Of course when they get there, ritual or sacred landscape will not exactly strike a bell, especially with a motorway right through the middle of it, or at least providing that lovely droning sound that can be heard for miles around - peace and tranquillity won't be on offer. One day of course when the oil runs out (probably in the near future) the motorways will sit silent and neglected - another short term folly.

Next year, the world will produce it's maximum amount of oil. Thereafter, it'll fall forever, and any we do get will be progressively harder to produce so the price will rocket. The road will relieve congestion for a single generation, maximum.
